Experience the Heart of the Central Coast:
A Legacy of Family-Owned Winemaking with Bella Luna Winery
If you’re searching for an authentic wine tasting experience on California’s Central Coast, Bella Luna offers something truly special. Tucked away in the scenic hills of the Templeton Gap District, our family-owned estate winery combines history, heart, and craftsmanship. Honored as “Small Producer of the Year,” a proud recognition of our team’s dedication to quality over quantity.
For over 25 years, our Bella Luna Estate Winery has been crafting small-lot wines that truly reflect the land we call home. We believe in letting nature lead the way, which is why we use dry-farmed viticulture. Our vines dig deep into the earth for their nutrients, resulting in wines with rich character and a strong sense of place. We take a hands-on, minimalistic approach to winemaking. Every grape is hand-picked with care, and each vintage is crafted thoughtfully from start to finish.
What truly sets our winery apart is the experience we share with you. When you visit us, you’re more than a guest. You become part of the Bella Luna family. From the peaceful surroundings to the meaningful conversations during tastings, we make every visit personal and memorable. While our roots are firmly planted in Old World tradition, we’re always evolving. We embrace innovation while staying true to the timeless techniques that define who we are. It’s this balance that keeps our wines fresh, unique, and full of heart.
Whether you’re a lifelong wine lover or just beginning to explore, we invite you to experience Bella Luna for yourself. Come see why our passion, our process, and our people make our winery a place worth discovering. Again and again!
About Bella Luna
Our Bella Luna Estate Winery was founded by two life-long friends in Kevin Healey and Sherman Smoot. In 1998 they planted Carly’s Vineyard, our estate’s dry-farmed vineyard made up of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Ruby Cabernet. Staring in 2001 they harvested the first crop from Carly’s Vineyard and together, they continued to grow the business.
In August 2018, Nichole and Lukas, Kevin and Camille’s daughter and son-in-law, returned to Paso Robles from Western Australia to be closer to family and carry on the Bella Luna legacy. Nichole now serves as our General Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations and creating a welcoming experience for every guest who visits the winery. Lukas has taken on the role of Winemaker, bringing his passion and expertise to every vintage crafted on the estate. Together, they’re not only raising the next generation among the vines but also guiding Bella Luna into an exciting new era that is rooted in tradition, driven by family, and focused on exceptional wine.
